Sound & User Interface

After analysing content from games over the past 15-20 years, I can honestly say that I cannot claim to have ever seen an interactive video game without some sort of preliminary menu in order for the player to validate that they are currently engaged with the platform. Although prior to the advancements in technology you could consider that physical games also had rudimentary version of a game menu, similar to how you would either have to wait a turn until all the other players have finalised their play.

I would consider this anticipation to be a factor into the engagement of games, primarily due to the instant rule of having to simply wait a turn to engage. In addition to this instead of UI sounds / SFX, commonly found within games to represent that the user is simply interacting with the platform, instead you would have your collection of players, chanting and possibly commenting on your progress, which in turn is giving a similar feedback to the UI sounds / SFX but in a manner so that all that are involved will understand.

A few random suggestions: Great score, quality combo, nice move (Used in some competitive games, such as Street Fighter and Rocket League). Or bellowing laughter, to booing and clapping (somewhat similar to theatrical performance or physical sports)
